We are looking for a Database Administrator with strong expertise in database design, modernization, and migration, and a keen interest in leveraging Generative AI (GenAI) for automation and optimization. Familiarity with multi-database environments (Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL), cloud platforms, and AI-assisted tools will be a strong advantage.

About the Role

  • As a Database Engineer (Modernization & Migration), you will:
  • Design, develop, and optimize database solutions across Oracle, SQL Server, and PostgreSQL.
  • Perform data modeling (conceptual, logical, and physical), ensuring normalization and strong relational integrity.
  • Develop and maintain database programming objects such as procedures, functions, triggers, packages, and scripts.
  • Build, customize, and maintain reports using industry-standard reporting tools.
  • Write and optimize automation and data processing scripts using Python, Shell, or PowerShell.
  • Drive data modernization and migration initiatives, ensuring minimal downtime and maintaining data integrity.
  • Leverage GenAI tools for accelerating query optimization, code generation, data transformation, and documentation.
  • Collaborate with architects, data engineers, and business stakeholders to deliver scalable and high-performing database solutions.

What We Like to See in You

  • Strong understanding of database concepts — transactions, indexing, partitioning, optimization, and recovery.
  • Proven experience in data modeling (ER diagrams, normalization, and star/snowflake schema).
  • Hands-on experience in PL/SQL, T-SQL, and PL/pgSQL development.
  • Practical exposure to Oracle, SQL Server, and PostgreSQL environments.
  • Experience in report development (SSRS, Oracle Reports, Jasper, or similar).
  • Proficiency in scripting (SQL scripts, Python, Shell/PowerShell).
  • Exposure to GenAI tools for database modernization and automation use cases.
  • Experience in data migration projects (e.g., Oracle ⇆ PostgreSQL, SQL Server ⇆ Cloud).
  • Strong debugging, performance-tuning, and analytical skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with cloud database services (AWS RDS, Azure SQL, GCP Cloud SQL, Redshift, Snowflake).
  • Knowledge of ETL/ELT tools and data pipeline frameworks.
  • Exposure to AI/ML-driven automation in database management.
  • Understanding of DevOps or DataOps practices for CI/CD pipelines.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
